The Brief
Phoenix Aerial wanted to elevate their brand and digital presence to attract high-quality clients and raise their profile as an industry leader. The project required a complete branding overhaul and the development of a new, professional website, supported by a digital marketing strategy.
Website Requirements: The website needed to function as a professional hub where users could:
- Research services and cutting-edge technology.
- Preview a portfolio of past/present projects.
- Establish contact (for both current and prospective clients).
Key Stakeholders/Audiences: The solution needed to resonate primarily with:
- High-quality corporate clients and industry professionals.
- Prospective clients seeking specialised aerial services.
My role
As the sole designer and developer, my role covered strategic branding, design execution, and front-end development.
Brand Revaluation and Design:
- Conducted a branding exercise to determine which legacy elements to retain and which to modify for improvement.
- Formalised a sophisticated brand palette, retaining a monochromatic base and introducing metallic tones to emphasise technical quality.
- Refined the flying bird icon (increasing space between wing strokes and left-aligning them) to improve scalability and balance the logo text, ultimately giving more emphasis to the brand name.
Digital Strategy and Content:
- Designed the website content and aesthetic to promote credibility and trust with the end-user, aligning with the goal of industry leadership.
- Prioritised lead capturing forms and accessible contact information as key to the website’s success.
- Developed dedicated sections to promote trust through testimonials and a solid portfolio, while emphasising the cutting-edge technology, equipment, and operator qualifications.

The rebrand successfully created a sophisticated and technical visual identity that appeals directly to the desired high-quality clientele.

Reflections
While the focus was on elevating the brand and digital presence to attract high-quality clients, the client’s desire to be recognised as an industry leader could have been further cemented by early integration of technical expert interviews into the website content strategy. This would have provided deeper, authoritative content to showcase the cutting-edge technology and qualifications of the operators right from the wireframing stage, ensuring the site architecture and visual hierarchy were optimised to highlight these unique selling propositions beyond just a standard portfolio and testimonials.
